Food-ventures: Breakfast at Juanita's Kapitolyo, Pasig City

Breakfast at Juanita's
#17 West Capitol Drive,
Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig City

Yesterday, the boyfriend was supposed to meet up a colleague for work. And since they were going to meet at Kapitolyo, we decided to have lunch. Initially, we agreed on going to our favorite, Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. However, we then thought, why not try something new? So after Googling the best place to eat at Kapitolyo, we found out that Cafe Juanita was the best. We went there but when we arrived, Cafe Juanita was closed. Apparently, they're only open from 11 AM to 2:00 PM, then 5:00 PM to 10 PM. That's why we opted to go to Breakfast at Juanita's which is just beside Cafe Juanita.

I wasn't able to take photos of Breakfast @ Juanita's facade and menu since we were really hungry (first meal of the day at 2:30 PM!). We did not even bother to find out their bestseller, instead, we just decided to follow our cravings. Anyhow, upon entering the place, immediately noticed how well decorated and kept B@J was. I mean, with all those decorations, sure it is difficult to maintain and clean!

Chandeliers

There were lots of figurines, paintings/wall arts, chandeliers, toys and anything decorative! Amazing how they managed to make space for all that though. Hehe.

A wall-full of paintings!

More decorations!

For every chandelier, there was a hanging bell;
for customers to call the waiters, I think?

What a creepy doll...

While waiting for our order, I noticed a couple in the inner part of the restaurant. When I looked closely (subtle enough to not be creepy), I noticed that it was Nic/Niccolo Fernando, elder brother of the Magalona siblings, with his girl.

Was taking a photo of the Nachos bar (?) when the waiter appeared so I stop taking a photo.
When I checked my phone later, Nic was included in the photo na. Haha, sorryyyy.

For our food, we both decided to have chicken. Since we're that hungry, we both ordered whatever we found interesting at that second.

HERS:
Buttermilk Fried Chicken (single/solo meal)
Php 240

HIS:
Thai Grilled Chicken (single/solo meal)

For our drinks, he ordered a Watermelon shake,
while mine's a Guyabano shake!

After eating our very delicious meal and several minutes of chitchat, I went to the bathroom. I waited a few minutes since there was a person inside. When it was my turn, I was so surprised, I even thought, "WTF, are you sure this is the bathroom?" Because oh my, that's the prettiest and most decorated bathroom I have ever seen.... that I even had the NEED to take lots of photos, and a video (to be posted here soon!).

Their comfort room, you guuuuyyyyssss!

Literally what you see upon opening the door!

I mean, where am I really? In Narnia??

This could pass as a garden already!

A water fountain. Inside. A. Comfort. Room. REALLY.

There was even a portrait of Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's!

...and a chandelier! I bet Sia would be so damn happy pooping here.

The verdict: the place, hands down, it's amazing. If you're looking for something unique, artistic and very much decorated, go here. As for the food, I haven't tried the bestsellers yet or other food so I won't be able to properly judge the place. For my meal, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, I thought there'd be something special, or a distinct taste to it, but nope. Tastes like a homemade chicken fillet. Didn't even taste the buttermilk. The gravy tastes mehhh.... For the boyfriend's meal, his was really yummy. The soy sauce that came with it was definitely delicious--a mix of sweet, salty, sour and spicy. My oh my, just the thought of it made my mouth water. Haha. The chicken was grilled perfectly. I just thought what made it "Thai" since it tastes like a normal grilled chicken anyway.

Will I come back? Heck yes! Since I was not able to find out and try their bestseller, I definitely need to come back. ;) And while I'm there, I'll also need to try Cafe Juanita! So 'til next time. :)
