When it comes to spending, I only buy something when I really need it. So as a recovering impulsive shopaholic, I always have to argue with myself if a certain purchase is worth it. I love makeup. But I also love (or sometimes obsess in) caring for my skin. If you know me personally, you'll know that when I'm stressed, I break out. A lot. Last September, up and coming Filipino-owned Cosmetics Brand Colourette Cosmetics launched a lipstick bundle they collaborated with Filipino-Chinese Beauty Blogger and Youtube Vlogger, Michelle Dy! They're quite new in the beauty industry (they recently celebrated their first anniversary!) but they started making a buzz when they got Filipina-Australian Model Lily Maymac as their model and endorser almost a year ago. With a variety of killer lipstick shades, a great matte finish and knowing how to market their products to the Filipinas, Colourette Cosmetics sure know what they are doing!

Several weeks ago, I finally decided to try purchasing from the US. Why? Because it's still cheaper (especially when you buy in bulk) per piece as compared to buying it from re-sellers here who sell it for P450 above plus shipping fee! (P.S., @thebeautyclubph sells it for only P429. Find them on Instagram, Facebook, and Shopee and hook yourselves with the cheapest Colourpop products. You're welcome!)

So going back, I was really nervous at first of course, because this transaction is all about trust:

1. you trust your instincts, that you have chosen the shades that will all suit you and your skin tone
2. that your online payment has been received and this is not a scam (lol I always get paranoid transacting online, most especially if it's a thousand miles away!)
3. that your order was processed and that the package will really arrive at your doorstep--straight from the US.

Well, it took about a month--which is quite long for a company who provides such service and less than P500 for the shipping, but heck yeah, not bad for my first time.

Duty Free Philippines has always been (mostly) the OFW and his/her family's go-to for pasalubongs whenever one arrives back home here in the Philippines. It's conveniently located inside or at least near the airports, so whenever one forgets, or just impulsively thinks of buying anything, you just drop by at their store.

In November 20, 2014, in a post published by Vogue, it was announced that Italian fashion designer who's based in Paris, Giambattista Valli was collaborating with Canadian cosmetics brand MAC Cosmetics for a makeup collection to celebrate the designer's ten-year anniversary of his self-titled fashion house. A lip collection that consists of five blooming, freshly cut garden shades and a gloss. The collection was released this summer, July 2015 in the US, Canada, and Europe and was sold out immediately online in MAC Cosmetics, Nordstrom and Macy's websites after its launch! I know, because I was one of the few fortunate ones to have it before it was gone. ;)

Korean make up haul from Etude House and The Face Shop in Korea

A few days ago, my Uncle based in Korea went home with these goodies! But prior to his arrival here in the Philippines, I asked him if he could buy a few makeup and skin care products in his current hometown, since I was told that Korean make up products are cheaper than here in the Philippines, so hence, the hoard.
