Ever since I became obsessed with makeup, I've been following makeup trends online through social media and articles. That's how I became aware of if not all most of the hottest makeup products and brands nowadays. However, living in the Philippines means limited access to all these babies; or even if these products are available, they can be hard to find and expensive.

That's why when my sister got a Lime Crime Velvetines liquid lipstick, I was so surprised and happy even (because I know I have the chance to snag this from her hihi). She got one in Red Velvet, and since she doesn't wear red on her lips a lot, I kept on asking her to swap it with me and thankfully, she agreed so, yay! This baby's mine now. :)

I've always wanted to buy one ever since a few online shops here in the Philippines sell them but they're just too pricey, as compared to buying them directly from the US (that is if you know someone who ships from the US to Philippines). It's even more expensive than MAC Cosmetics lipsticks sold here!

With the price in mind, I was just so happy when I got the chance to hold and try it on me. The verdict: the product easily glides on to my lips and is heavily pigmented. It felt liquid-y at first because duh, "liquid lipstick". But as a first time user of a liquid lipstick, it actually exceeded my expectations! I am a lipstick lover, but I've only stuck with the regular lipsticks simply because I thought liquid lipsticks tend to be messy and that I can't pull it offbut to my surprise, Lime Crime Velvetines is waaaay beyond that, hence, the price.

Lime Crime Velvetines actually comes in 10 beautiful shades: Red Velvet (red, close enough to MAC Cosmetics' Ruby Woo and NARS' Dragon Girl), Suedeberry (bright, orange-y red), Pink Velvet (blue toned pink), Black Velvet (yes, black), Wicked (maroon red, kind of like MAC Cosmetics' Diva, but darker), Salem (brown), Utopia (bright magenta-ish purple), Cashmere (old rose), Pansy (bright blue violet), and Riot (orangey-tan).

What I like: this liquid lipstick glides on easily on my lips, so apply it, a little goes a long way. It's heavily pigmented and dries fast so you won't have to worry about smudging and whatnot. It's staying power is also impressive! I applied it in the morning at work and despite the numerous times of eating and drinking, I still have a lot of color on my lips. It doesn't even stick or smudge on my glass/cup! The candy smell is even a bonus, I am definitely in love and will also like to try the other colors, especially Cashmere!

What I dislike: The price and the limited availability here in the Philippines. Most online shops who sell this are usually running out of stock. Andddd, since this is a liquid matte lipstick, expect cracked/chapped lips after eating and especially after drinking. But don't worry, all you have to do is to re-apply the product. Since it's matte finish, you have to apply copious amount of lip balm to prevent your lips from drying. It's also quite messy when you remove the product at the end of the day/night so....
