TMH Playlist: 02/17

I know, I know, we're already down to the last day of February. But hey, it's still February, so let me at least share the songs that helped me get through this stressful month. Stressful, but not in a bad way, I guess, because looking back, I think, I was really productive this month. That's all thanks to these good tunes that helped me resist sleepiness, turbulence and the urge to slouch just because I needed several minutes to at least breathe. If you went or are going through the same, well, fellas, this playlist might be for you.

First off is "Always" by Great Good Fine Ok. I started the playlist with something upbeat but still chill because I felt like this is such a good song to listen to in the morning. Imagine sitting in the office, with lots of paper works in your desk and facing your PC with tons of emails left unread. Yeah.

The song is followed by "So Close" by Andrew McMahon--which reminds me of Michael Angelakos's (Passion Pit) voice! It's ironic, because we started the playlist optimistic, yet it's as if we're hit by reality in the face. The song goes "So close, So close to giving up, So close to going all the way, So close, So close to taking off, So close to going nowhere". But of course, it's just a song. LOL.

This month's playlist only has 47 songs as compared to January but it was still enough to keep those creative juices flowing and adrenaline pumping at work, which was what I needed since I do not drink coffee. Music alone Good music is enough. ;)

My favorites from this playlist are:
  • "Chained to the Rhythm" by Katy Perry - the kween is baaaack!
  • "Circles" and "Does She Know" by Kiana Valenciano - Mr. Pure Energy's youngest, and only daughter sure can sing! That shouldn't come as a surprise as it really runs in the blood: his father, Gary Valenciano is a famous singer in the country and even abroad; her eldest brother Paolo Valenciano was in a band; her cousin KC Concepcion sings; and her aunt, Sharon Cuneta is one of the biggest and most famous personality in the Philippines and abroad too. Her music is totally different from her family, in a good way.
  • "Heavy" by Linkin Park feat. Kiiara - About damn time, Linkin Park! This song features Kiiara, who by the way is coming here in the Philippines on Friday at  The Palace Pool Club for /ESCAPE's anniversary!
  • "bodyache" by Purity Ring - This Canadian duo is also coming here for Wanderland 2017 this Saturday! Tickets pleaaaase. :(
  • "The Scientist" by Corinne Bailey Rae and "Into You" by Sondre Lerche - I just love it whenever artists come up with cover songs--one that is totally different from the original, it's as if it's another song. And oh, in some cases, covers become even better than the original ones.

Aaaand that's it! In a few days, I will be posting my March playlist naman so stay tuned and for the meantime, happy listening. :)
