Day 2 in Hong Kong (December 15 to 18, 2013)

image

Our itinerary for our day:
  1. Avenue of the Stars in the morning, because the rest of the day will be spent in Hong Kong Disneyland
  2. Hong Kong Disneyland!

image

We found out through the internet that Avenue of The Stars was just a 15-minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to why not just walk our way there since it was just 7 in the morning. That way, we'll be able to roam around the city with fewer people.

You can overlook Kowloon City from the Avenue of the Stars! :)

Next stop: Hong Kong Disneyland!

It was raining when we got to Disneyland, which explains the awkward photos we have upon arrival. Thanks to a very nice Korean couple who took our photo! (They asked us to take their photo so in return, they took ours as well!)

Hong Kong Disneyland on a rainy day and winter season. Not a good combination...

To our horror--it rained harder, that even though we were wearing a jacket and a raincoat and we even have an umbrella, we still got wet; hence, the wasted look in our photos.

And since it was raining hard, the lines were short! So we made it a point to go to every attraction even if it means getting wet.

Awww, look at these Disney mascots not wanting to get soaked in the rain! They waved at us when our train passed by them. :)

And because it was raining non-stop that day, no parade for us. :( However, I was still very happy because I got to watch this Lion King performance!!! The Lion King movies were very important to me because apparently, it was my first movie according to my Mom. I was still a baby when we watched it at the cinema, so yaaaay!

Before leaving, please do try their pastries from the bakeshop! The pineapple boomer is a must!

Disneyland truly is the happiest place on Earth!

Even if it was raining like heck and everyone was soaked, it didn't stop us from enjoying the place. The kid in me was soooo giddy for being here, for finally being here. Will definitely go back! But that time, we'll make sure we won't experience rain again. LOL

Trying out authentic Hong Kong cuisine. :)

I swear, this mall (i Square) takes "escalators" to a "whole new level"--I meant that literally because this escalator is so high, I think it's as high as a two-story building already!

Christmas shopping!!! Look at the people flocking to the malls even if it's raining and really cold at night!

What I learned from this day's itinerary:
  1. Wake up early so you will have extra time to roam around the city
  2. Do not mind walking. Explore through your feet.
  3. Disneyland is truly the happiest place on Earth!
  4. If it's raining, you can buy a raincoat at Disneyland. They have a raincoat for kids and adults.
  5. Appreciate everything! :)

Note: This is a DIY trip, meaning we did not book through a travel agency. All we did was to book a flight (Piso/Promo fare!) and research online about the places to visit and hotel to go for.

Click here for my review of the hotel we stayed in. It was the New Yiu Fai Guesthouse, which is just very near the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. They also offer discounted prices for Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, and other attractions as well. :)
