It's our last day in Hong Kong, so what better way to cap off this trip than to find a local restaurant just near the hotel we stayed in! We made sure to eat something good, that's why we even walked around the street twice to survey which restaurants seem good. Thankfully, we found this restaurant just down the street which is called "New Bangkok Restaurant". Yep, we searched for a local resto but ended up in Thai cuisine in Hong Kong. We did not regret it though because this restaurant is just too good!
Our plans for this day were:
- Eat lunch somewhere good
- PS4 shopping
- Roam around Tsim Sha Tsui
- Buy gifts (aka pasalubong in Filipino) in the Night/Ladies' market
- Departure
Here's a copy of the menu. The New Bangkok Restaurant is located at Shop 102, Multifield Plaza, 3-7 Prat Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui.
I have always loved rice, fish, and chicken so I ordered this Fried Rice with chicken and salted fish for lunch, and daaaaannnggg, it was so good I'm telling you! So good, I finished it in less than 5 minutes. Plus the serving was big, I can say it is enough for two already. It's really good!!! It's been a craving ever since I tasted this. Can't wait to go back and try this again!
His order was Hainanese chicken with garlic rice. It was also good, but not as good as my order. LOL
They have this coconut milk drink with red beans and it was really good too!
After lunch, it's time for roaming the city one more time!
Went to a grocery to find some goodies!
The release date in Asia for the latest PlayStation yet (PS4) was December 17--which was just in time for our trip! The boyfriend was so happy when we finally found this Sony PlayStation store, we purchased immediately after surveying the competitors. :)
This mini-mall in Hong Kong where we bought the boyfriend's PS4 have kiosks which sell really cute stuff! This one had cartoon character plushies and toys!
A magazine and comics shop
And they actually still sell stamps!!! Stamp collectors, this is heaven!
An eyewear shop; mind you--they sell really nice and branded specs! I'd love to buy one since mine was broken upon entering Disneyland (would you believe that!!!) but they were quite expensive. :(
And to my surprise--they sell Fujifilm Instax cameras as well!!! All kinds of colors, films, accessories--like literally everything!!! I really wanted to buy one, since they appear to be cheaper here than in the Philippines, but all our money were spent in the boyfriend's PS4 so, yeah... :( They even had these limited edition films and they were cheaper too!!!
I gasped when I saw these babies in the same shop where I found Instax stuff--Diana F+ cameras!!!! AAAAHHHHH I have been wanting to own one for years!!! but I can't because PS4 happened... :(
After shopping, we went back to our hotel to leave our stuff in the room so we can shop more in the Night/Ladies' market.
I swear, this place is just similar to the Philippines--the place to find great buys: "Divisoria"! They sell gadgets, clothes, souvenirs, and whatnots cheaper! We bought two 30,000 mAh power banks here both for only 400 HKD! It truly is a great deal, because when you convert it to peso, we only spent PHP 2,000 plus for the two 30,000 mAh power banks. Up until now, we haven't seen any 30,000 mAh for sale--only until 20,000 mAh and my, it costs more or less than PHP 5,000!
One of the things I enjoyed here in Hong Kong is this beauty shop--SASA! They sell makeups, and all things about beauty here cheaper too. :)
See the variety of the products they sell here in the Ladies' market?? They pretty much sell everything here already, and mind you--it's cheaper than in malls! You can haggle too when you buy in bulks! Note that some do not speak in English, so might as well opt for someone who does for better haggling. ;)
The market is actually pretty huge, so make sure that when you leave a shop, you're that sure that you'll leave it, otherwise it will be harder to go back, since this isn't just a one-lane market on the street.
We had so much fun shopping and walking around Tsim Sha Tsui that we forgot to leave early for our flight! We only realized it after shopping, so we wasted no time and ran as fast as we can to our hotel, pack our stuff and leave.
Though we're already running late (figuratively and literally), we still managed to have our "selfies" taken. LOL.
We were so late, that we were running as fast as we can with our luggage and two boxes of PS4 in hand! I was literally on the verge of collapsing when we made it to the boarding gate. Despite running as fast as we can, we were still late for like 20-30 minutes! By late, I mean, really late for our 11 pm flight. I can only appreciate the "Filipino time" during that moment because the flight was delayed for a good 45 minutes I think, so we made it. And we weren't the last ones in line as well, so hurray!
I was only able to breathe, relax and calm my lungs out after being seated. That was such a run and I swear I don't want to be late again for a flight! Super hassle and tiring!
Nevertheless, I will definitely miss Hong Kong and it's ever busy and alive streets, the food, the attractions, the architecture, fashion, shopping and of course Disneyland. This trip was kind of a disappointment because of the non-stop rain which made winter season colder for us from the tropics, so we told ourselves that we need to be back to experience more of Hong Kong.
So with that Hong Kong, we'll see you again. No goodbyes! Soon. :)
