Finding the "perfect" powder/foundation sure can get stressful and costly at times. Trust me--I've been to quite a lot, in the search for the foundation that suits me and my skin type. This, however, finally solved the problem.

L'Oreal Mat Magique is now my favorite foundation. In fact, I use it every day. I have oily skin with some breakouts especially on my forehead and this product helped me reduce the shine on my face (thanks to the Volcanic Perlite Infusion feature) and at the same time, cover the blemishes too.

Ingredients

L'Oreal Mat Magique in G2 Golden Ivory

L'oreal Mat Magique comes in 4 shades: N2 Nude Vanilla: NC20- NC25 (Fair skin tone, Yellow undertone), R1 Rose Ivory: NC20-NC25 (Fair skin tone, Pink or Neutral undertone), G1 Vanilla Ivory: NC30 (Fair/Medium skin tone) and G2 Golden Ivory: NC35- NC40 (Medium skin tone). I got G2 because I'm an NC40. I noticed that Mat Magique's shades are quite whiter, especially for Filipina. My skin tone is on medium, so I think for the ladies with a darker complexion will find this a bit light on them, especially for tan ladies...

One of the things I love about Mat Magique is that it is matte finish--which is very important for people with oily skin (like me). Of course, when you have oily skin, you'd want to minimize the shine on your face, right? This product is not only effective in reducing the shine on your face, but it's also effective in controlling oil production, which makes the powder stay on your face longer.

Bought mine from Watson's

Shade and manufacturing date found at the bottom of the container

I also like the packaging because as you can see, the puff is actually separated from the powder. Some foundation/pressed powders out there are placed together which makes it messy and unsanitary sometimes (if you're a bit of a germaphobe like me)...

Closer look

Bottom line is--I love this, and I do not regret buying this at all--despite owning my most-coveted MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (which I always pair with a BB cream). Although it claims that it has a 12-hour staying power, it doesn't last me more than 6-7 hours, which is fine with me because sometimes, a little shine looks good. For my 9-hour job, I haven't really found myself "re-touching"--and that's just awesome for us oily and acidic people.

Just to give you an idea of how this product works on me
P.S., I look lighter because of the lighting but I'm an NC40

This product also works great if you pair it up with a matte concealer--like what I use (and my favorite!), Face It Radiance Concealer Dual Veil in NB23 which is up for review soon! :)
