Club Balai Isabel + Aqua Park | Our First Christmas Together!

Club Balai Isabel + Aqua Park | Our First Christmas Together!
Club Balai Isabel + Aqua Park | Our First Christmas Together!

Happy 2019! It still hasn't sunk into me that 2018 is already behind us. (In fact, my mind is still in 2018. LOL.) This Christmas, we opted to just stay at home (and get lots of sleep), which made me remember what a fun Christmas we had in 2017! That year, we decided to spend our first Christmas together as a married couple somewhere we can relax, have fun and enjoy each other's company. We chose to stay at Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas. It's a few hours away from Metro Manila, but the travel time is definitely worth it.

My husband and I have been hearing a lot about Okada Manila. It's quite far from where we live but since people have been raving about the dancing fountain, we just have to see it. If you haven't been there yet, check out this post to see what you've been missing

5 Affordable Places to Go to in Tagaytay on a Budget

5 Affordable Places to Go to in Tagaytay on a Budget

Tagaytay City has always been a quick and cold escape from the city. Aside from the temperature to enjoy, Tagaytay also offers a lot of places to visit and things to try, but most of it will have you spending. However, I thought of listing the things the boyfriend and I used to do in Tagaytay whenever we wanted to go on a "date" but on a tight budget. We used to go to Tagaytay a lot during college because I am from Cavite, and he is from Laguna, and somehow, Tagaytay has always been our "middle" place, because aside of the cool temperature, there are some things you can do here whilst not spending a lot.

Escape to Camarines Sur, Bicol 2017

Bicol 2017

During long weekends, I wish I am somewhere, traveling, like everybody else. However, since I'm getting older, my body, my mind and unfortunately, my wallet (because I'm saving for something) is asking for a timeout. A time to breathe, relax, reflect and most importantly, sleep. It's almost May, but sometimes I feel like it's September already, due to the number of things I need to get on top of. But it's okay, because I like it that way. I'd rather that, that than an idle mind.

Anyway, so since I'm just at home during the next few days of summer (probably), here's a throwback post to satisfy my wanderlust: our Bicol escapade just this January.

Intramuros Tour | New Bioré UV Products review + photo gallery

Last Saturday, I was given the opportunity to join a sight-seeing tour by Biore Philippines. On the day of the event, I just found out that it wasn’t just sight-seeing at all. What comes with it was a brief history of the old Manila and our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. The fun stuff did not just end there, as I was also one of the first people who got to try the brand’s latest summer-ready products! Talk about being productive and educational, yeah?

To the New Year and New Beginnings

Happy New Year, everybody and welcome, 2016! While 2015 has been a good year, of course, we'll always look forward to the new year simply because for most of us, it is an indication of a new beginning; another chance; opportunities and possibilities that life has to offer. I don't know, but for me, the new year is always a good motivation for me to look back and evaluate myself like, knowing my strengths to maintain and improve and of course, my weaknesses so that I will know what to change and also improve to make myself better.

Hotel Amapola Rockwell, Makati City review

What: Casa Amapola
Where: 257 Amapola St., Palm Village, Makati City
(Estrella, EDSA side--take note because there's another Amapola St. near Buendia)

The boyfriend and I love having staycations for every major occasion like birthdays and our anniversary. This year, I made it a point to make it simple yet unique and memorable. I've had lots of plans in mind, like booking at a hotel in Tagaytay City or go somewhere north like in Antipolo. However, I came across this deal at MetroDeal. After thinking a lot of times, reading reviews online and failed payment transactions (Damn BPI for their on-and-off again online banking!), I finally booked it and guess what, no regrets.

Solemar del Pansol, Calamba, Laguna

Saturday night, I was told (by told, I meant I was asked--and that I have to come. lol) by the boyfriend that he and his family will celebrate his younger brother's birthday at Pansol, Laguna the following day until Monday, which is a holiday. We were both supposed to attend a birthday party, but since it was his brother's birthday celebration, it is the priority.

Day 4 in Hong Kong (December 15 to 18, 2013)

image

It's our last day in Hong Kong, so what better way to cap off this trip than to find a local restaurant just near the hotel we stayed in! We made sure to eat something good, that's why we even walked around the street twice to survey which restaurants seem good. Thankfully, we found this restaurant just down the street which is called "New Bangkok Restaurant". Yep, we searched for a local resto but ended up in Thai cuisine in Hong Kong. We did not regret it though because this restaurant is just too good!

Our plans for this day were:
  • Eat lunch somewhere good
  • PS4 shopping
  • Roam around Tsim Sha Tsui
  • Buy gifts (aka pasalubong in Filipino) in the Night/Ladies' market
  • Departure

Day 3 in Hong Kong (December 15 to 18, 2013)

image

It's already our day 3 in Hong Kong and it's still raining, which means it's so cold once again, so we decided to find a place to eat which serves noodles and soup. Thankfully, we found one just a few walks away from our hotel! And gosh, they serve the best Shrimp Wanton I have ever tasted in my whole life. Unfortunately though, the owner/server doesn't know how to speak English, so we just pointed our orders from the menu.

Day 2 in Hong Kong (December 15 to 18, 2013)

image

Our itinerary for our day:
  1. Avenue of the Stars in the morning, because the rest of the day will be spent in Hong Kong Disneyland
  2. Hong Kong Disneyland!
image

We found out through the internet that Avenue of The Stars was just a 15-minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to why not just walk our way there since it was just 7 in the morning. That way, we'll be able to roam around the city with fewer people.

Day 1 in Hong Kong (December 15 to 18, 2013)

It was my first time to ride on a plane let alone go out of the country in my whole 21 and a half years (then) in life, so of course, I was so excited and scared at the same time. Excited, to go abroad, to explore another country and see what it has to offer. My first ever out of the country was in Hong Kong--of course because of Disneyland. :)
